We're back from our Cruise!

Tom & I had a WONDERFUL time on our 7 day cruise with my sister Glenda and her husband Donald. We took a city tour in New Orleans and and swam tour that was very interesting. Here is one of the nice homes and one of the homes that were under water after hurricane Katrine. Notice the water marks on the house. Unbelievable! After our swamp tour we got to hold a baby gator that captain Ted was raising.
We left on Sunday Jan. 18th and returned to New Orleans on Jan. 25th. More to come later.

Snow going away

The temperatures have finally warmed up to about 25+ above now and today we have warm WINDS and RAIN that is melting some of the beautiful snow. Today's commute to work was one of the worst in years. Schools closed...bus services not running and LOTS and LOTS of accidents due to the icy roads. Tom made it to work safely, barely--a guy almost slid into him. He said it was so slick he couldn't even hardly make the corners, even going slow. YIKES!! It was pretty hectic driving today, so....guess what? I'm at home right now until about noon, then I will head into work.
We are getting ready to leave on our trip tomorrow for a few days and hopefully it will be warmer and nicer where we are going. We are looking forward to the time with my sister and her hubby, and hopefully we will get to see Lon & Debi and maybe Christi and Dylon.

What's under your kitchen sink?

Consider this--John Travolta's son, Jett, was just 16 when he passed away from a seizure. Jett was diagnosed wit Kawasaki disease when he was a toddler-a condition his parents ascribe to the chemicals in household cleaning products used in their home. It's very tragic and sad this young life was taken at such a young age.

We believe the home should be the safest place in the whole world. Go to your cupboard right now. Pick a cleaner, any cleaner. Does it contain chlorine, phenol, ammonia, or formaldehyde? These--and more--may be toxic. TOXIC as in DANGEROUS, as in HURTFUL. The home is NO place for stuff like that.

"Get Clean" offers you nontoxic and natural cleaning choices that are SAFE, POWERFUL, GREEN, and SMART! While making your home cleaner, you can make your family healthier. You make the planet healthier for other families as well. Once you try it, and see that it works great, you tell other about it, and imagine the ripples of change YOU can generate.

I know this is kind of out of character for me, to send this, but I am VERY CONCERNED for all you young mothers out there!! Please help me spread the word, that there IS an alternative for SAFER and HEALTHIER HOMES.

Beautiful Bitter Cold Alaskan Winter Day

Just a couple pictures to try to capture the beauty of the bitter cold we are having here in Anchorage and all around the state of Alaska for the past week or so. The sun is shining so beautiful and yet it is 10-20 BELOW ZERO here at our home. My walks with Angel, have gotten considerably shorter these last few weeks, since it's been so cold. Her little feet get pretty cold pretty fast. It seems like it takes me longer to put on all my winter gear than it does the amount of time we are able to stay outside right now. :o)
Other than trying to stay warm, we haven't been doing to much. Alaska, is just starting their 50th year as a state, and there were lots of activities down town the last couple days, but we did not go.
I am looking forward to getting some WARM sunshine later this month. My sister, Glenda and her hubby, Donald, and Tom and I will be going on a week cruise out of New Orleans starting the 18th of Jan. through the 25th. We are celebrating our 30th and 35th anniversaries this year in March, so we thought we would start early. Sounds good to me!!! I'm afraid I will get burnt pretty good, if I'm not careful. We need sun glasses to stop the glare of my white legs when I put on my shorts. Ha!!!
