Visiting cousin

One of my favorite cousins came up to Anchorage to spend a little time with us in August,  when they brought their daughter up for nursing internship. We had a great time with them. It's always good to see relatives. It's sooo fun to watch our friends and relative the first time we take them to the dock and try to explain how the tide works. It's one of those things that just happens every day, at exactly the right time, by the mighty power of the Lord.

Hurricane force winds Sept. 2012

This WAS a big of tree in the back of our house that could have fallen on our house IF the wind was blowing in a little different direction. Thank the good Lord it wasn't blowing our way. It just went down in the greenbelt.

Our neighbor's shed got a little damaged. Notice the roots of the tree in the fense. That's how stron the winds were Sept. 2012.

We went for a walk the next day to look at the damage. There were several roads blocked by trees and the community patrol were out helping get trees out of of the way. It was kind of funny to some Alaskans that the news did not recognize this as unusual, even for Anchorage. It was just another Wednesday. LOL

I finally remembered how to add pictures to my blog from Picasa. So...I'll see what I can do to get caught up now. :-)
