Beautiful flowers
I enjoyed all the beautiful flowers at the Smith's garden before the Luau.
My good friend Karleen and I at the Luau.
Bike ride along the coast
We, Karleen and her hubby Mike, and their niece Laura, did the touristy thing and rented bikes to go along the coast. It was a beautiful ride.
Northern Kauai-Princeville
We had walked quit a bit to get to the shore where we were hoping to sit in the "Queens Bath" but...the surf was WAY TO HIGH~~So we just enjoyed the warm sunshine. It was not the most easy walk I had done since most of us wore our flip flops. Next time we will know to wear better walking shoes. :)
Hwaii sunsets
We got to enjoy the beautiful sunset from our back yard of the house we were staying in. It was so calm and peaceful.
More Hawaiian picture
This is the "Grand Canyon" of Kauai, the Weimea Canyon. Very nice, but not quit the "Grand Canyon" in Arizona.
Testing to see if these go through.~~~ Chickens were almost everywhere. We were told that a hurricane came through a few years ago, and a lot of the chickens were lost. Now...there are chickens, chickens, and more chickens. They kept trying to get us to bring some home with us. :)

This was my first time to Hawaii and it was very delightful! It was so nice to step outside in your shorts and not have to put on layers and layers of cloths. AAAAWWWWW.
I'll post more later...

My March 12-19 Hawaii trip!
This was my first trip to Hawaii! I went went my friends, Karleen, and her husband Mike, for 1 week. Laura, Karleen niece with the red hair, was also with us. We did the touristy thing and rented bikes for a 7 mile ride along the coast. It was beautiful. And...it was amazing to me that I kept up pretty good, and I wasn't even very sore the next day. YEA!
This was March 14th, Karleen's big birthday! The women took a road trip where we were going to take a nice bath, in the Ocean, but...the surf was WAY TO HIGH!! It was about 10 feet or more above where we were to be sitting. A nice guy that was down there when we were, told us it was the 2nd most high surf he had even seen, and he had been there several times. It was amazing. I'll try to post a video later.
We had a nice walk to get to the bath place. This picture above it NOT it!! This is just along the path we had to walk on. Most of us were in our flip flops, so it wasn't the easiest walk I've even done, up and down this rocky and dirt cliffs.
We had a BEAUTIFUL view of the sunset every night, right at the end of the yard. We stayed right near Waimea on Kauai. Nice place, beautiful 4 bedroom home and each of us had our own bathroom, and nice big living room--everything was furnished except our food.
They called this the tunnel of trees, but one guy called it "the tunnel of love", so every time we went by it we would laughed and called it the tunnel of love. :)
One of the things I enjoyed doing while there was visiting with the locals and watching them surf. It was amazing to me to watch them. It was fun to watch this young boy, about 9 years old get right out there with the older guys. He was so good, you could tell he was born and raised there, and the water is his second home.
These kit surfers were amazing to watch. It was more fun to watch them then it was to try to snorkel. Again, the surf was way to high to snorkel.
These next few pictures were at the Smiths garden where the beautiful peacocks, flowers, birds, and the Luau was held.
Ready for the Luau, after we posed for a couple pictures. It was so delightful there, mid 70's to low 80's. NICE!! Nice WARM SUNSHINE everyday, and a few sprinkles every once in a while to cool things off, just a little. It was like taking a warm shower when it would rain. Aaaaa.
A few pictures of some of the beautiful flowers.
One group of the dancers at the Luau. It was fun to watch them and listen to the music. There was a nice buffet, tour of the gardens, that I showed you earlier, and the hour show of different cultures and their dancers. It made me sore just to watch them, not really. They were amazing. So graceful and fluent.
My trip was planned by my best friend Karleen, who turned 50 and she invited a few people to join them, and I was one of the lucky ones that was invited. YEA!! They rented a hugh beautiful 4 bedroom beach house, real close to the ocean right near Waimea on Kuai. We were a few miles out in the country, so it was very peaceful and quiet. We had to drive everyday to go do things. We finally found a couple places to snorkel, and we saw some beautiful fish. It took me a while to get the hang of snorkeling again. But...once I did, aaaaaa---very relaxing. I'd like to try again and learn to relax more!! We had a seal come right near us, about 5 feet from us, and he just wanted to get in on the sunny beach also. He just stayed on the beach for a long time! Overall, it was a very nice fun trip and it was great to be with friends and to enjoy the nice WARM SUNSHINE!!
