Beautiful Springtime snow
We finally figured out how to get the video to work. Tom had been working really hard to clear this 23"of snow off our walkway, then he took the picture and still out of breath. It was a very wet and heavy snow!
Springtime Winter wonderland
I couldn't get the video to work, so I'll just send a picture for now.
This is about 2 ft. of snow that we got yesterday in 12 hours! It was unbelievable! Just last week it was warm, (near 60 degrees), MOST of the snow had melted, the tulips were coming up, we had raked the yard, and thing were looking like spring. Guess what!! Not today!! Spring is on hold for a while more.

Alaskan Highways in the winter
Check this river out!! We are standing in the middle of the Yetna River. This is the highway that a lot of Alaskans use during the winter to get their supplies to their cabins. The river freezes hard enough for snow machines and other vehicles to use it by mid Nov. and is about 14" thick. It stays frozen until about May. There are areas of open water called "open leads" that we have to be careful of. On our trip going up, it was dark and foggy, and we came upon an open lead, going about 45 mph, and was about 45 foot long. Tom had told me, if you ever see open water, to give my machine all the gas it could handle and DON'T STOP until we are sure we were out of it. He had made it through the open lead and had stopped to make sure I made it and I was right on his bumper! I about ran over him. :o) The Denali Mt. was absolutely gorgeous coming home. It's the tallest Mt. in North American and is over 21,000 ft. high. Many mountain climbers try to climb it during the summer months. Very few have made it all the way. Some have even lost their life at doing what they enjoy.
Snow Machine Trip

This is on one of our snow machine trips that we took several winters ago. The top picture is the gas station-restaurant-bathroom- every thing combined! It was our last fuel station for a while.
The middle pictures is the Talavista Lodge we stayed at once we reached our destination!! We traveled 180 miles one way up the frozen Yetna River. The people that live in the villages use the frozen rivers as their highway. It's the only way some of them have to get to their cabins in the winter. The further North you go in Alaska the more expensive gas is!
The bottom pictures is the next morning--BEAUTIFUL!! It was kind of foggy for a while, then it cleared out and was absolutely gorgeous!!
This was quit and experience for Tom & I. It was only the two of us and going up it was very foggy and dark. Not so fun! The next day coming back it was sunny and bright!! YEAH!!
Tom's BD
I couldn't find any pictures of Tom by himself, so I guess this one will have to do.
Tom enjoys hunting big game, going out in our boat, and fishing during the summers. During the winter he enjoyed snow machining until we got rid of our snow machines a few years ago, after we went on several nice trips, and some not so fun. So now the winters get pretty long. Each year they seem a little longer.

Shaklee Videos
Shaklee Videos
I'm trying this out. Maybe your already conscious about our environment, but I think we all need to be more aware of helping to save our planet for our children and grandchildren. Recycling is only one way we can help. Taking our own bags to the grocery store and using those, rather than plastic bags, is another suggestion. You can learn more on our web site @ www.shaklee.net/nogle and click on the Get Clean products. That also shows that all the products are safe for you, your home and your planet.

Fun Fishing

This is the way I like to fish. We met our guide, Tim, at the Kenai River in Aug. a few years ago. He had everything we needed for the day all ready to go. We had a lot of fun and actually caught several "silvers" that day. They put up quit a fight once they are hooked. It's always so nice to get out and get some fresh air, sun shine and have some fun at the same time. I enjoy just riding in the boat. It's very refreshing.

Feb. 1995 In Phoenix
Look at Rick & Lindy and Laurie several years ago. How precious!! It was so good for me to reunite with family and get some sunshine. That Feb. was one of those LONG WINTERS that I needed to get out and get some sunshine, but more importantly --be with family!!! Laurie and Lindy were very gracious. I think this was when Lindy & Rick had that huge dog. (not the one in the picture) Right?
Mom Nogle met me in Phoenix and we also met uncle Rusty and Aunt Donna. Uncle Rusty took me golfing for the first time. It was such a very special time I'll never forget.
Both mom's in Ak & at the State Fair

It was so fun when both mom's came up in late Aug. & early Sept. 1998 and we took them to Alyeska resort. Beautiful place!! I love the picture of them both sitting by the flowers! Alyeska is about an hour away from Anchorage. GREAT skiing in the winter and BEAUTIFUL in the summer. It can be cold there also.
We also got to take them to the Alaska State fair. They are munching on a funnel cake that they got. It was so much fun.
Mom Nogle in Alaska

This was another fun trip we took to Seward, AK. Mom Nogle loves water falls, so we had to stop and take a picture of her and Tom by this water wheel, which has since been torn down. :o( The middle picture is Mom & Tom outside Seward, Ak. by the ocean.
The bottom picture is on a Glacier cruize that we went on, and YES it was Cold and wet. No sunshine that day, as you can tell. The Glacier is snow that gets packed so tightly, over the years, that it turns to ice. The ice moves constantly, until it reaches the ocean where it breakes off, and creates ice burgh. The harbor seals like to hang out on the ice burgh to rest.
Mom Nogle in Alaska

These are some of the pictures of Mom Nogle & Tom, JoAnn & our dog Sunshine. This is Hatcher Pass that's about a hour away from Anchorage. It's really beautiful in the summer, and they ski there in the winter. We had a good time when mom came up. This was Aug. 1998, I think. This was our previous dog Sunshine that we had for 15 years before we got Angel, our Britany Spaniel.

Twin Brothers
I LOVE this picture of my twin brothers, Ron & Don. We were all together @ my oldest sisters home in southern Colorado, over Thanksgiving and we were goofing off. It was so GREAT to all be together!! It was the first time in over 10 years that all 7 of the "kids" have been together with mom. We had a GREAT time!! All together there were 23 of us for Thanksgiving dinner.
I was looking through pictures to share, and I came accross our family get together from last Thanksgiving. I guess I'm missing my family again. We will be going down to Colorado in about a month for my nephew's graduation. It will be good to see everyone again.
Longer Day
We are really starting to notice the longer hours of day light now. I LOV IT!! It gets light about 7:00 am and is still light @ 9:00 pm. Soon it will be light for 24 hrs. We MUCH PREFER the light over the darkness!!
The snow is melting slowly, but still to much on our yard to clean it up from the winter. About a couple more weeks I hope, then we'll be able to rake it and get it looking better. The trees are starting to bud and sever people were out throwing the snow from their yard into the streets, when we went on our walk. This helps to help clear our yard off a little sooner. We will probably do our yard this weekend???
