Thanksgiving Smells

Just think of all the wonderful different smells in the house and outside around Thanksgiving.

The smell of the turkey baking in the oven, with the dressing and yams or potatoes. Yum!
Then there is the pumpkin pie or apple or whatever you choose to bake ( or if your like me, have Betty Crocker or Mrs. Smith) help me out. :o) Non the less, they still smell and taste great!
Home made rolls, baking in the oven. That is one of my most favorite smells, is the smell of bread baking. I guess that's why I like walking into Subway, because of the great smell when you walk in. Don't forget the vegetables and the cranberry salad of some sort. yummmy! Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

I love to watch the big, beautiful, soft snow flakes fall. It is so peaceful and it just reminds me of a beautiful blanket of purity and cleanliness covering the earth. It's so beautiful. Snow doesn't have any smell, but it makes up for it in it's beauty. We got about 3 inches of fresh snow tonight, and Angel and I were out playing and walking around in it. It was so warm, for here, about 25 degrees. It has been below 20 most of the time since Oct. , so when it gets about 20 I am jumping for joy, and right out in the midst of it!

Aunt JoAnn,
I know what you mean about those smells! And the snow, ya, it'd be nice. We did have rain today. I enjoyed it. Made it feel like fall.
I just got off my feet. I've been baking all day in preparation for the big day. I started off the day by making pumpkin and cranberry breads. Then I proceeded to make 2 pineapple cream cheese pies..Jay's favorite, a pumpkin pumpkin pie...it has 2 layers. The first is a pumpkin custard and the second a pumpkin mousse. an apple pie and a pecan pie is finishing in the oven right now. It's 7:30pm and I'm exhausted. I'm thinking Sarah Lee's gonna be my wing man next year! Hopefully I'll have the energy to tackle the turkey and trimmings tomorrow. We're having my mom and her friend and Jay's brother and a friend from church. Then on Friday my dad, Debi, Christy, and Dylan are coming to stay for a week. Then Saturday Lindy and her kids will stay with us a week! I'm thinking I'm going to be on my feet alot. But how much fun will that be!?!! I'm so excited! Wish you could join us. Have a very happy thanksgiving. Miss you.
